Pink on Friday and Polka Dot on Saturday?
I don’t have to think long before remembering another story about my brother Rick. I wondered whether it’s okay to share it with you, but what the heck, here I go. I hope it makes you laugh.
A Hilarious Mistake
Way back when I was running my private practice as a lactation consultant, I had a business coach whose name also was Rick. I was finding it challenging to organize all the books, papers, handouts, etc., required to run a practice, so I decided to reach out via email to ask for some help. I composed a friendly email and was preparing to hit send when that little still voice said, “Proofread.” I argued that I didn’t need to proofread an email. But the voice insisted, and I gave in.
Thank heavens. I listened to my intuition and proofread it because I had written this. “I’m wondering if you can help me out. I need help organizing my thongs.” Of course, that was supposed to read things! Was I ever glad I caught that mistake!
I immediately called brother Rick and told him the story. He howled. At that time, he owned a landscaping company and was working on-site when I called. He yelled out to his all-male crew, “Hey guys, my sister needs help organizing her thongs! What do you think? Pink on Friday and polka dot on Saturday?” Huge guffaws and laughter sounded through the phone.
My brother turns just about every situation into a fun time! It is always a laugh-a-minute with him around.
