Welded wire meshes are preferred when creating rabbit cages and hutches.
Depending on your rabbit breed's size, 16 or 14-gauge, 1/2" x 1" mesh is the ideal flooring size.
There are widths available: 10", 12", 14", 15", 16", 18", 24", 30", 36", 48", 60", and 72".
GAW finish is recommended due to its ability to withstand the corrosive effects of rabbit urine. 1/2" x 1" wire is better for paws and large enough for droppings to fall through—this will improve sanitary conditions to keep your bunny healthy and comfortable. Some studies indicate that rabbits raised on wire mesh actually encourage growth.
14 gauge, 2" x 1" mesh is the perfect size for the sides and top. These products will keep your rabbits and other small animals safe and secure.
