For your convenience and ease of installation, many of our welded wire fence products are available in panels as an alternative to rolls.

*Some of the wire requires a minimum of 50 panels

Here are great ways to use panels:

  • Aquaculture
  • Bird sanctuaries
  • Boardwalks
  • Cat runs
  • Concrete reinforcement
  • Deck railings
  • Dog kennels
  • Enclosures
  • Filtration devices
  • Gabions
  • Gardens
  • Machine guards
  • Rabbit cages
  • Stairwell railings

Most panels are cut from rolls; however, some are manufactured per order depending on the mesh/gauge/finish configuration.  Since the wire has been heated multiple times during the manufacturing process, the wire tends to “hold a memory” of the roundness from being rolled up.  If there is a need for flatness, there is much less labor required for installation when handling flat panels versus trying to unroll a roll that is 100 feet in length and cutting it by hand. If there is an interest in using wire mesh for deck railings or another project that would require wire mesh in a flat form, purchasing pre-cut panels instead of rolls of wire comes highly recommended.

Panels are flattened and sheared to size.  They may cost more, but the time savings is priceless. Depending on the panel size preferred, the freight for shipping may be higher as well; however, we do provide extremely fair rates and pass these savings on to our customers.

The panels are sold in many different gauges, mesh configurations, and finishes. Panels are sold as flat unframed sheets. We do not offer framed panels. Some configurations have minimum order quantities and others are available in the requested needed amount. This depends on the manufacturer.

Please inquire about the panels offered as we have the ability to satisfy your needs and discuss the options available.

If you choose to cut your own panels, consider the cost of your labor. Keep in mind that there are two cuts per panel except for the first panel. For each additional cut you must cut the exposed wires left from the previous cut. Cutting wire takes hand strength and patience. The heavier the gauge the harder it is to cut through the wire. Pre-cut panels save you a ton of time and won't tire your hand! The memory in the rolls is very difficult to erase as the rolls are wound tightly by machine and then heated to retain the shape of the roll. To minimize the memory, reverse roll the cut panel, tie it and leave it in the sun to heat for a day.

If you are sandwiching your panels in between wood, there's no need to coat the exposed ends. If the cut ends will remain exposed to the weather, there is a special paint for coating.

Wire Gauges and Mesh

The opening sizes are offered in Plain Steel, Galvanized, Vinyl Coated, and Stainless Steel.  Panels are flattened and sheared (cut) to size from standard size roll widths (18”, 24”, 36”, 48”, 60, & 72”), but may be available in an alternate length.

The panels are cut from 100 foot rolls; therefore there is a minimum purchase of 100 feet per gauge, mesh opening, and width size that you need. However, depending on the finish there may be a four roll minimum purchase required. Stainless steel panels may be available in smaller volume depending on whether the panels are made individually or cut from a 100 foot roll.

The table below shows you the number of panels you will get per 100 foot roll based on the mesh opening size. You will get this many panels cut from a 100 foot roll. The mesh opening size is the distance between the vertical wires. The length is the horizontal measurement. So, for example, if you want your panels to be 36" high by 48" long, the panels are cut from a 100 foot roll that is 36" wide. If your mesh opening size is 1.5 inches, you will get 24 panels. Your minimum order for this size is 24 panels.
