Louis E. Page's Shipping Policies

We are aware of the escalation in shipping costs, mostly due to the rising fuel surcharge added to every trucking invoice. To save you money, we compare prices from many different carriers. We ship your order the least expensive way unless you need the order expedited. We will place your order only after we receive your approval of the shipping costs.

Due to the characteristics of the products we sell (size and weight and number of items), we will calculate your shipping charges once we know the exact products and quantities you want to order, as well as the final destination.

We make every effort to ship within 48 hours of receipt of order. We will notify you if this is not possible. Some vendors only ship on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Because some of the products we sell are very specialized, there may be a lead time on some items before we can ship your order. We will notify you of any delay.

Don’t worry, that’s our job. Louis Page has over 100 years of experience in selling fencing and making sure it gets from point A to point B safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. Here’s an idea of what to expect.


We’ll use one of two primary methods to ship your order:

 
UPS Logo

 

Single Rolls

  • Smaller orders like single rolls of fencing (weighing under 120 lb) and miscellaneous accessories are shipped UPS Ground.

  • Most UPS orders ship within 24 hours if received by noon, Mon-Fri.
 
Freight Logo

Heavy Items (> 120 lbs.) and/or Multiple Items

  • We ship larger orders such as multiple rolls of fencing, and or posts via Freight.
  • Most of our products are shipped directly from the vendor. Therefore, your order may come from one or more locations depending on which product/s you order: Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Mexico, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas.
  • We will provide your shipping cost when you provide us with the final destination address..
  • The freight carriers typically pick up within two business days.
  • For all shipping destinations that do not have a loading dock, the items will ship 'residential' with a lift gate. Liftgate fees vary from $50-$150.
  • For non-commercial sites or commercial sites without a loading dock, the freight carrier will contact you to arrange a date and time for delivery.
  • We will analyze each shipment to find the best rate and service for your order.
  • Carriers require a signature for all deliveries.

How quickly will my freight order arrive?
How quickly your order arrives primarily depends on the transit time from the warehouse from which it ships. Some orders ship from two or more warehouses.The map below shows approximate transit times (in business days) for most orders.

Residential Delivery Fee

  • The carriers charge an extra fee for any delivery made to a non-commercial location, such as construction sites, farms, schools, and country clubs.

  • An additional charge for residential delivery ranges between $50.00 and $70.00 per delivery.

  • The cost may be higher for shipments over 2,000 pounds.

  • The carrier makes the final decision about a location's status.

  • When there is a question, we will charge the fee and refund the difference once we receive our invoice from the carrier.

  • Shipping to a terminal or to a location zoned commercial can save you the additional residential charges.

Shipments 

  • Shipments are made with freight charges prepaid.

  • We do not ship freight collect. 

Handling Fees

  • Orders under $500 will be charged a $25 handling fee.

C.O.D. 

  • We do not ship C.O.D.

Returns 

  • Due to restrictions placed on us by our vendors, we do not accept returns.

Defective Material 

  • You must notify us of any defective product within 2 days of receipt.

Damage in Transit 

  • You must make your own restitution with the delivering carrier for material damaged in transit.

  • You must be sure to note any damage or shortage on your receiving papers when signing for material.

Risk of Loss

  • You are purchasing items under a shipment contract.

  • Therefore the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you once the carrier picks up your order.
