This novel tells the story of a spirited young boy growing up in a quaint Scottish village, striving to make the world a better place. His father affectionately nicknames him Gutta Percha, after the resilient Gutta-percha tree, due to his ability to adapt to any situation. The Gutta-percha tree produces the flexible substance latex.
