This galvanized before weaving (GBW) apron fence - Red Brand from Keystone Steel - is the ideal fence for beagle
training pens, running pens and other enclosures such as game bird pens. Apron fence can also be used as a lower cost alternative to galvanized after weaving (GAW) for game bird pens. The heavy 17 gauge galvanized wire is over twice as heavy as normal 20 gauge chicken wire. Unique, hinged 12" apron prevents animals from burrowing under the fence. Keeps raccoons, foxes and other predators out. The apron can be turned in either direction to make a pen or form an outside barrier. Apron fence is easy to install since there is no need to dig a trench. Just bend the fabric along the line wire which runs the length of the roll, 12" up from the bottom. The apron lays on top of the ground and vegetation grows up through the mesh for a neat appearance. Hex fence can also be installed without the apron feature. Vinyl Coated - Black
Apron fence, vinyl coated (VC) with a thick, durable, flexible, protective black PVC finish, makes an excellent fence for beagle training pens and other enclosures. The vinyl has UV inhibitors to retard degradation from sunlight. This not only adds years of life to the apron fence, but also makes it a very attractive black vinyl coated fence. Although initially more expensive than the GBW apron fence, you will save on the hassle and costs of labor by not having to replace the vinyl coated fence. This material has the same identical features as the GBW apron fence (the apron prevents animals from burrowing out, easy to install with no trenching required) with the added feature of long life and attractive appearance. Vinyl coated apron fence can also be used for game bird pens. Everyone who has purchased this wire has been very pleased with its appearance and durability. Also available in lighter weight 20 gauge (core wire), 1" mesh. Use 1" 20 gauge for additional height in deep snow areas.
The mill that weaves this fence (Keystone Steel) does not do the vinyl coating. We send rolls to a different mill to be custom coated. Note: there is a minimum quantity order requirement of 5 rolls on these two vinyl coated products.
